My Story: Why I Started Zoom Gym
I started ZoomGym when I was a shut-in because of MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity). I used to be a Zumba teacher and total gym rat, so I rounded up my friends on Skype for yoga and cardio dance classes. I’m not a medical professional and I never pretend to be one. Do your own research, speak with as many professionals as you can and listen closely to your body.
That said, I’m very creative and I’ve learned there’s usually a way to keep moving safely. Especially with yoga — many people get injured because they don’t start slow enough. Any new move that your body is not used to has the potential for injury. It couldn't even be something very simple and basic. Go way slower than you think you need to until you’re sure all the movements feel safe for your body. We’re not in a rush here. This is about long-term progress, not forcing things.
The Part You Do Not Get From a Video
For 8 minute abs and yoga, we cycle through videos and share the screen on Zoom.
Yes, you could do it at home by yourself.
But you probably will not.
